At the Fall Social last year, Old Town Merchants & Residents Association (OTMRA) members, their Board of Directors, two Aldermen and the Illinois State Representative gathered with the press to witness the awarding of a total of $100,000 to six community not-for-profit organizations.
These gifts were in support of diverse community action programs and the recipient organizations were: The Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence, Franklin School, Immaculate Conception, Alliance for Community Peace, Living Faith Community Church and Near North Ministry.
At the Spring Social, all of these groups joined together again to inform OTMRA and the community how the cash donations have supported their individual organizations. Attendees enjoyed delicious food provided by Dinotto Ristorante and Twisted Sister Bakery, mingled with local business owners & neighbors and honored their fellow OTMRA members.
